چکیده

Objective: Was to assess the mandibular asymmetry on panoramic radiograph (OPG) as compared PA (posterior anterior) cephalogram. Materials and method: A total of 15 participant’s records with age above 12 years; both genders; Pakistani nationals; clear OPG cephalogram available; full biodata available were included. Radiographs participants unerupted or missing teeth in anterior posterior region excluded. Three linear measurements (condylar, ramus, body length) one angular measurement (gonial angle) performed cephalograms. Paired t test Pearson correlation applied between for condylar, length gonial angle see relationship. Results: The females 6(40%) males 9(60%). mean condylar measured was 8.44 ± 2.96mm 9.98 2.73mm difference 1.5mm no statistical (p=0.1007). Similarly ramus (p=0.706), corpus (p=0.066) (p=0.333) not statistically different Very high found length(r=0.97), (r=0.96), (r=0.93) very highly significant (p<0.001). But moderate (p=0.035). Conclusion: can be used initial diagnosis asymmetry. Keywords: Mandibular asymmetry, radiograph, posterior-anterior

Correlating the clinical assessment of impacted mandibular third molars with panoramic radiograph and intraoral periapical radiograph

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES This study was conducted to compare the clinical assessment of impacted third molars of mandible with panaromic radiograph (OPG) and intraoral periapical radiograph (IOPA) and to assess the efficacy of IOPA and. Moreover, we corroborated the OPG and IOPA findings of impacted mandiblar third molar root apex to inferior alveolar canal. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 200 pa...

Dilemma of gonial angle measurement: Panoramic radiograph or lateral cephalogram

PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of panoramic imaging in measuring the right and left gonial angles by comparing the measured angles with the angles determined using a lateral cephalogram of adult patients with class I malocclusion. MATERIALS AND METHODS The gonial angles of 50 class I malocclusion patients (25 males and 25 females; mean age: 23 years) were measu...

Accuracy of Panoramic Radiograph in Assessment of the Relationship Between Mandibular Canal and Impacted Third Molars

BACKGROUND The relationship between impacted mandibular third molar and mandibular canal is important for removal of this tooth. Panoramic radiography is one of the commonly used diagnostic tools for evaluating the relationship of these two structures. OBJECTIVES To evaluate the accuracy of panoramic radiographic findings in predicting direct contact between mandibular canal and impacted thir...

Assessment of the Mandibular Incisive Canal by Panoramic Radiograph and Cone-Beam Computed Tomography

Objectives. The region between mental foramens is considered as a zone of choice for implants. However, complications may arise due to an extension anterior to the mental foramen that forms the mandible incisive canal [MIC]. Our goal is to evaluate identification of MIC by both panoramic radiograph [PAN] and cone-beam computed tomography [CBCT]. Methods. 150 cases with bilateral MIC were analyz...
